Attention Ruger Customers: As of September of 2019, Ruger has altered the dimensions on some models of Ruger American bolts.   The First version, which we call Model 487, is .487″ wide.  The newer version is smaller and they are not interchangeable.  They are visually different, but you will need to look at the factory bolt handle that came with your rifle to determine which one fits. This listing is for a .487″ wide handle.

Ruger American Tactical bolt Handle in Black Melonite Stainless Steel with a Oversized aluminum tactical knob, black anodized (Standard 5/16X24 pitch thread). Our black tactical knobs have been coated with an oil and solvent resistant flat black industrial finish on top of the anodizing to improve finish and appearance.  This bolt handle offers improved ergonomics and allows for faster bolt cycling and positive extraction of shells, even when wearing gloves. Please note that we are no longer including any tools to install the lever. You will need a pair of inexpensive expansion pliers available from online retailers and a flat nail (or similar device) to complete the installation. Read important information here.
